Biography

Boaz Ziniman is a Principal Developer Advocate at Amazon Web Services. He raises customer awareness of AWS services and, in particular, helps customers understand the benefits that the AWS Cloud can deliver. Boaz has many years of experience with web development and operations, architecture, IT management, and cloud. Prior to joining AWS, Boaz worked with a variety of key Israeli startups—managing development and operations teams as well as leading cloud adoption and partnerships with major cloud vendors.

An Introduction To 5g for Developers – Why Should You Care?

Even with 5G networks, that are up to 10 times faster than 4G, using traditional mobile architectures requires multiple network hops, when connecting to an application server over the Internet that can result in latencies of 100 milliseconds or more and does not take full advantage of 5G capabilities. This session will focus on how 5G networks work and how you can deliver new innovative 5G applications, like industrial automation, smart cities, ML-assisted diagnostics, or autonomous vehicles that need ultra-low latency access to end-users or end-devices and use AWS Wavelength to take full advantage of the speed of 5G networks. AWS Wavelength is AWS infrastructure deployments that embed AWS compute and storage services within communications service providers’ (CSP) datacenters at the edge of the 5G network.
