Beyond Facial Emotion Recognition
In this talk I will introduce the audience to a new, augmented, Facial Emotion Recognition dataset and a Deep Learning model. With its basis on the FER 2013 dataset, used by a Kaggle(1) competition and also referenced in the paper by Ian Goodfellow et al(2), Challenges in Representation Learning: A report on three machine learning contests; I augmented the FER2013 32,298 images by adding the Celeb Dataset(3), which contains 202,599 images of celebrity faces, exploring the magnitude of gradients around edge corners by extracting extra features from the faces using the Histogram of Gradients.
